“Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: ”Revelations 3:14-18
The seasons of the year remind us so exactly about periods of our life. One more autumn has arrived, giving us a perfect example that in our lives there will come a time of harvest. We will reap not what we want or expect, but what we sowed. Usually people reap much more than they sowed. A single seed of corn produces a corn husk.
In the book of Revelation, the Lord admonishes believers in the Laodicean church with the words: “Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: ”Revelations 3:14-18. What a great contrast, what a different point of view. Here on earth people see the rich, successful people as those who are fortunate, gifted people who are likely blessed and have everything. Perhaps it is singers, actors, or politicians, or businessmen, or leaders of countries; they are confident of themselves and valued, having wealth, great mansion, automobiles, luxury boats and private jets, great education and the image that they have need of nothing. At the same time, in the eyes of God they may be “wretched, miserable, poor, blind and naked.” That is how they will stand before God if they continue to sow the same seed.
We sow all our lives, knowing that there will be a harvest. Therefore from the perspective of an eternal life, it does not matter who the person was during his or her life on earth, a president or a daily laborer. The Word of God gives a valuable advice to all: “Beware that thou forget not the LORD thy God…” Deuteronomy 8:11
Our dear brothers and sisters. Our co-laborers in the fields of God we thank you for your good seeds that you sew by supporting our mission. We thank God for you. Your sewing is testimony that you have not forgotten your God and are looking for opportunities to serve Him and have chosen Word to Russia’s outreach to Slavic people as a field. May God bless your efforts with good fruit that leads to life eternal. May the Lord keep your name registered in the Book of Life in heaven. To Him who loves us, who saved us from sin. Be honor and praise forever. Amen.
“Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.” Hebrews 10:35.
