“For in many things we all stumble. If any stumbleth not in word, the same is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body also.” James 3:2 (James 1:4).
The first step to fame is called patience. A person is not born with patience, as with the color of skin or hair, but patience is achieved by us consciously in the process of life. You will not be able to buy a bottle of patience in any pharmacy of the world. Mankind could have
avoided many of today’s problems. These are divorces, murders, road accidents, suicides, wars, conflicts, orphans, the homeless, and much, much more. There would have been much less negativeness on earth if people had learned to be patient. In spiritual life, the path to
perfection lies through patience. “For in many things we all stumble. If any stumbleth not in word, the same is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body also.” James 3:2 (James 1:4). In the character of Jesus Christ, prophets and ministers, patience was one of the first
places, being the most important component of spiritual life on the difficult road to eternity. “In your patience possess ye your souls.”- Lord calls from the pages of the gospel. (Luke 21:19) Someone said well: Patience is the stones by which the road to salvation is paved.
The skill of patience takes a person to a new spiritual level, being the foundation for meekness and humility. This is a practical step for the Spirit of God to live in our heart temple. The door through which the Spirit of God enters the temple of our soul is called Humility. “For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite..” Isaiah 57:15
In the 51st Psalm, David writes words that we must always remember when we stand in prayer. Want your prayer to be answered? In Scripture we have a key – it is called Humility. “A broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.” Psalm 51:19
The final, solemn chord in the finale of the symphony of humility is glory. Humility leads us to glory. “By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honor, and life.” Proverbs 22:4. It’s wonderful and it should not surprise us, because everything that the Lord does, He does in full. This is also the case with the law of Humility. God not only repays goodness for humility, but also brings us through this law to a higher spiritual degree – to glory! “It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory:…” 1 Cor 15:43 So it was with Jesus Christ and so it will be with everyone, who fulfills this wonderful promise of God in his life.
